Sometimes when you are using your desktop or laptop computer, you will notice that the fan is very loud. This can be annoying as you might not want this much noise while you are trying to use your computer. There are reasons why this fan is loud and some things that you can do about it to make sure it's quieter.
First, you need to get into the habit of dusting your vents and fans from time to time. They can get plugged up with dust. You need to turn off your computer, unplug it, take out the battery if it's a laptop, and use a can of compressed air. This will get the dust off the fan and out of the vents. This will do two things. First, the fan won't turn on as much since the system will be a bit cooler. Secondly, it will spin better as it doesn't have all the dust on it weighing it down.
Your fans might be old. When they get old, sometimes they spin slower or are at an angle which will cause them to slightly scrape which is causing the noise. These fans can be replaced for very cheap.
Your computer might be taxed so much that the fan is running all the time. This means you have too much running on your system at one time. One thing that causes this to happen is virus problems. Get rid of those. You should not see your processor going at 100% all the time else your fan will never stop and continue to be noisy.
Your computer might need an additional fan to keep things cool. Desktop cases might allow you to put in extra fans. For laptops, you can get a cooling pad that will help cool down the machine.
The room your computer is in might be too hot. This means that you need to be in a cooler environment that will help your computer.
